Who knew Christmas decorations were so controversial? Because a post from the Property Brothers praising Biden’s decorations has inadvertently made the HGTV stars rivals with Melania Trump.
On Dec 10, the Property Brothers posted alongside HGTV with a series of photos of Joe and Jill Biden’s colorful holiday decorations filling the White House this year. They shared the photos with the caption reading, “This year’s whimsical #WhiteHouseChristmas decorations were unmatched. 🥰 Tap the link in our bio to see all the festive details. ⬆️.”

Now, throughout the photos, we start with Jonathan Scott and Drew Scott holding a Christmas tree in front of the White House, followed by pics of the White House’s decorations. The halls were decked with colorful ornaments, candy pieces, and more, followed by unique displays of a ballerina and reindeer, along with snow-crusted Christmas trees.
What seemed like a simple post turned into an all-out war in the comment section, with many showing support for Melania’s controversial Christmas decorations. Many people commented things like, “Nothing beats Melania’s trees,” “very nice but nothing as elegant as Melania’s,” and “Melania’s will always be better. ❤️”
Now, here’s the thing: Melania’s Christmas decorations were the center of controversy for multiple reasons. One reason people didn’t like her decorations was because many found them cold and devoid of color, but the other controversy centered around the leaked recording of her bashing the decorations.
A recording was leaked of Melania talking to her former aide and Melania and Me author Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, per CNN. Melania famously was recorded saying, “I’m working … my a** off on the Christmas stuff, that you know, who gives a f*** about the Christmas stuff and decorations? But I need to do it, right?”
