Cameron Diaz Discredits ‘Crazy’ Rumors About Co-Star Jamie Foxx as She Makes Her Acting Comeback

Cameron Diaz is ready to make her acting comeback in 2024 in the Netflix comedy, Back in Action, and while she’s out there promoting the film, she’s defending her co-star, Jamie Foxx. During the filming of the production, there were rumors about his behavior and how the 50-year-old actress was regretting her return to Hollywood — and now, she’s crying foul on the gossip.

Diaz gave her thoughts on a recent episode of Molly Sims’ Lipstick on the Rim podcast from Dear Media, because she was frustrated with the allegations in the media. “I really hate all of the things that were being said about our set at the time,” Diaz shared. “You just want to scream at the top of your lungs, like, ‘What are you talking about?'” The rumors came from a March 2023 report from the Daily Mail and she’s discrediting the whole story by praising Foxx for being “the cheerleader for the entire crew.”

The rumors from the media outlet claimed that Foxx “had an absolute meltdown” and fired three members of the crew. The source also went into depth about Diaz’s time on set with reports that “back-to-back 10-hour workdays” were too much and that she didn’t want to deal with the “drama and confrontation.” The insider added with alleged insight into her 2018 retirement, “This is why she retired from the business in the first place. She has already proven herself in the industry and has nothing left to prove to anyone.”

Diaz said this claim couldn’t be further from the truth and she was thrilled that Foxx lured her back to Hollywood for the role. “Everybody loves him. We have so much fun on the set with him, and he’s just a professional on every level,” Diaz gushed. So, anyone hearing about the “crazy” rumors shouldn’t listen to what “sources” have to say. The Charlie’s Angels star is here to tell the truth: She “had a blast” working with Foxx because “he’s such a special person and he’s so talented, so much fun.”

She and Foxx even discussed the issue while they were filming and he was a total pro about the gossip. “‘We know the truth,'” Diaz said of Foxx’s reassurance, “Still, it just really made me angry.” We don’t blame her one bit.
