When she joined the British royal family in 2018, Meghan Markle gave up many different things from her old life. To name a few, the Duchess of Sussex gave up her acting career when she left her leading role in Suitsand gave up any personal social media, like Instagram, to rely only on their official royal accounts. Many years since, however, Markle made a subtle yet hilarious return to both yesterday.
On Dec. 19, Clevr Blends, a company specializing in “super-powered lattes for energy, stress, & sleep” shared their end-of-the-year video. In the background, Markle, who’s a longtime investor and champion of the brand, made a cameo.
“I want to give a huge shout-out to our amazing Clevr team here at HQ,” Clevr co-founder Hannah Mendoza began the video. “Without them, we are nothing,” she added, introducing the “fulfillment crew” with Markle in the background.
“They’ve been listening to Britney [Spears] on loop since 2019,” Mendoza joked, with a zoomed-in shot of Markle packing orders.
In the next scene, Mendoza introduced their “very smart, only slightly nerdy digital team.” On the desk next to hers was Markle, in glasses, typing away at the computer and sipping some water.
“Finally, the glue that literally holds us all together,” Mendoza continued, while Markle handed her a mug, “our incredible resilient ops team.” In the last moment of the video, Markle, who’s taking a call while carrying some packets of the brand’s matcha hilariously misses a fist bump with another employee and starts laughing.
In the comments, fans of Markle are obviously loving her unexpected Instagram appearance. “The new hire deserves a raise and bonus and benefits,” commented one user. “She is a multitasking Queen. Clearly.”
“The glue that keeps it all together 😍😍😍 I’ve been glued to her since 2011 in her Suits days ♥️,” wrote another fan. “That intern in the back looks mighty familiar… and is working mighty hard! 😍” another echoed. We couldn’t agree more!
Markle, who says Clevr is her favorite latte company, per People, has partnered with the brand for a while now. In February, Mendoza gave an inside look at their collaboration.
“Three years ago, everything changed,” the co-founder said in the video. “None other than Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, had started drinking our lattes. Not only did she love the product, but she was extremely passionate about supporting female founders, our sustainable sourcing, and our food justice give back,” she said.
Mendoza went on to call “one of the world’s most incredible female luminaries” as she became the company’s “first investor, advisor and biggest Clevr advocate.” What a beautiful partnership!
