The holidays are all about family, and that doesn’t only mean the one you were born into. We love celebrating our chosen family members as well, including longtime BFFs who make this time of year even more special. We’ve been huge fans of Dern and Witherspoon’s (Dernspoon’s? Witherdern’s?) friendship. And their recent holiday-themed photo reminds us why. In the snapshot, shared to Dern’s Instagram, the two Big Little Lies co-stars are seen wearing the exact same glittering silver skirt and matching white long-sleeve tops. The candid photo shows Dern giggling while Witherspoon makes an important phone call.
“Listen, I said get Santa on the horn, STAT. We’ve got a skirt emergency,” Dern’s caption reads, as if recalling word-for-word what Witherspoon might’ve said in the photo. We weren’t the only ones obsessed with their holiday twinning ‘fits. “A skirt-mergency, you might say,” “Such love,” and “You gals are so cute,” were just a few of our favorite comments left on this post.
We’ve always adored seeing the love and support these two women have for one another. And especially during the craziness that comes with this time of year, it’s so important to remember and acknowledge those who’ve been there for us through all of life’s ups and downs.
