It’s been a difficult year for Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas as they navigate a new normal amid their divorce. Their top priority is, of course, their two daughters, Willa, 3, and Delphine, 1, but there’s a very specific child custody agreement in place.
This year, the Game of Thrones star has the kids Dec. 16, 2023, through Jan. 7, 2024, according to court documents obtained by TMZ. (People claimed the date was Dec. 17.) She can travel with them in the U.S. and the U.K., but the girls must be in New York City with Jonas by Jan. 7. The boy-band singer has been spotted in London as late as Dec. 20, so he might be spending his holiday overseas as well.
Whether it’s a way to keep travel to a minimum for himself or a sign that Jonas might see his daughters with Turner on Christmas, it appears this arrangement is working so far. The 34-year-old musician had their daughters for both Halloween and Thanksgiving, so they might be alternating holidays each year.
The duo was married for four year until Jonas filed for divorce from Turner in September. While their prenuptial agreement was easily enforced, their child custody issues turned ugly quickly. The 27-year-old actress sued her ex-husband, requesting that the children live with her in England, per their discussions when they were married. Currently, their temporary child custody arrangement has Willa and Delphine splitting their time between two countries, which might work until they have to start school.
Since their split, Jonas has been focused on his music while Turner wrapped production on an upcoming British TV drama called Joan. She’s also been spotted in London and Paris making out with aristocrat Peregrine Pearson which appears to be a new, but blossoming, romance. But no matter what, Turner and Jonas will always be connected,, and hopefully, their co-parenting situation will continue to work on an amicable level.
