The Crown Star Dominic West Says He ‘Lost Touch’ With Prince Harry Over This Revelation

If there’s anything fans have learned over the past few years is that royal relationships are tricky — one minute you are in, the next minute you are out. That’s what The Crown star, Dominic West, has learned about his friendship and feud with Prince Harry.

West was a bit cagey about why he and Harry were no longer friends on Times Radio, per Us Weekly. He noted that he “said too much in a press conference” and eventually lost touch. “We didn’t speak after that,” he said with finality. The duo bonded during their Walking With the Wounded charity trip to Antarctica in 2013, and then West spilled the tea at a “welcome home” press conference. So, what did the 54-year-old actor say that upset the Duke of Sussex?

Well, the Daily Mail is dishing the details about Harry’s “two-day bender” after the team finished up their treacherous adventure. West praised the then-29-year-old royal for being “a really cool guy, very much part of the team” and for being willing to do dirty jobs like “build these incredibly lavish, castellated latrines, with battlements and loo roll holders.” But West got a little too comfortable in his conversation with the media, and that’s when he allegedly crossed the line.

“Two of the Aussie guys stripped naked and ran round the pole but most of us, Harry included, just went on a two-day bender with the Icelandic truck drivers who had brought some lethal home brew with them,” West shared a decade ago. “There was a lot of liqueur drunk.” The raucous party also included drinking champagne out of one of Duncan Slater’s “favorite prosthetic leg.” Slater is a double amputee who was injured in 2009 during a military tour of Afghanistan.

To top off his gossip session, West divulged that Prince Harry also “told some eye-wateringly rude jokes which for a non-soldier like me was pretty shocking!” It seems like everyone had a great time after reaching the South Pole together, but the party details should have stayed behind closed doors.

The icing on the cake is that West went on to portray Harry’s father, King Charles III, in Seasons 5 and 6 of The Crown, making it an odd full circle for him. Harry admitted that he watched early seasons of the Netflix show but has reportedly sat out watching the episodes that sadly include Princess Diana’s death.
