On the Tuesday, Jan. 2 episode, the couple discussed the lessons learned in the prior year as they navigated the allegations surrounding their relationship and leaving their cushy jobs on ABC’s GMA3. One of Robach’s top items for 2023 was directed toward Shue. “I’ve learned that you don’t really know someone until you divorce them,” she told Holmes, who seemed surprised by his girlfriend’s remark. He took a beat and then moved to the next item on the list. Robach laughed at the moment without offering any further context about why she was taking a dig at her ex-husband.
It’s quite possible that the former TV anchor is still feeling the sting about Shue allegedly hooking up with Holmes’ ex-wife. Yes, it’s a modern-day wife swap and the news just happened to drop on the day Holmes and Robach’s podcast premiered — and it might not be a coincidence. A Page Six insider noted that Robach was “livid” after the media outlet revealed Shue’s new relationship because she “thinks her ex is trying to steal her thunder.” The source added, “She’s convinced he did this to coincide with the debut of her podcast.”
Shue and Fiebig have not confirmed their relationship to the press, but the Daily Mail spotted them packing up for a weekend getaway in early December. At the time, they had reportedly been together for six months, so the relationship was far from new when the tea was spilled to the press. A pal told Page Six that Shue and Fiebig bonded over the trauma of their marriages ending so publicly. “It turned into something else, and they’re connected over their values,” they continued. “It’s bigger than the affair now.”
The fact that Shue has moved onto someone Robach knows might irk her a bit, but she has also fallen in love with someone else. Everyone should be happy for each other and not worry about what their exes are doing at their point. It’s a new year, time to put those old grudges behind.
