Naomi Campbell’s 55th Birthday Tribute to Christy Turlington Showcases Their Strong Supermodel Bond

The supermodels of the 1990s set the bar high with their fierce runway walks and business acumen, but it’s the long-lasting friendships that might be the best part of their legacy. Naomi Campbell made sure to honor her bestie, Christy Turlington, on her 55th birthday on Jan. 2.

Of course, Campbell wasn’t about to do any ordinary social media post that disappeared in 24 hours. Instead, she gave the Calvin Klein superstar a carousel of snapshots through the ages that are truly fit for the queen that she is. (See the photos HERE.) The first image was of both of them embracing in a sweet hug with their eyes closed — it’s a shot that is a stunning tribute to the bond that they share. Campbell then dug through her archives and found photos from their early years together — from behind the scenes to on-set, what a career they’ve had!

Campbell didn’t stop there because she also gushed about Turlington in the caption, praising her for being an incredible human being. “HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO , My BFF my 1st room mate ever , chosen family of 37 years .. @cturlington !!” the 53-year-old supermodel wrote to her friend. “#QUEEN One of the Most beautiful in the world inside and out, intelligent, hardworking, loyal, caring and Kind.. always consistent, SO PROUD OF ALL THE GREAT WORK YOU DO @everymomcounts SAVING MOTHERS AND BABIES FROM MATERNAL MORTALITY.”

She wrapped up the post, “Enjoy your special day .. we love you always as we celebrate you Turly #family #bff #happybirthday 👑❤️🎂❤️🎂❤️🎂❤️🎂 👑.” This isn’t the first time Campbell has stepped up for one of her supermodel besties. She was moved to be included in the September 2023 cover of Vogue and British Vogue along with Cindy Crawford, Turlington, and Linda Evangelista to promote the Apple TV+ docuseries The Super Models.

“I’m blessed that I came up at that time, I wouldn’t have wanted to come up at another time,” Campbell said her Vogue interview, “There was a sisterhood there, defined by caring and loyalty: When one is down you pick the other one up.” And here they are over 30 years later and still the strongest fashion girl squad around.
