Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce Are Missing Their First Opportunity To Make Red-Carpet Debut

Talk about a missed opportunity to have an epic red-carpet couple debut! Taylor Swift, who is nominated for a Golden Globe on Sunday in a new category, Cinematic and Box Office Achievement, for Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, will be in Los Angeles at the same time as her boyfriend, Travis Kelce. If you are looking for a meet-cute moment at the awards show, it sounds like it’s not going to happen.

The 34-year-old singer has reportedly confirmed her attendance at the show, according to Page Six, but Kelce will not be her plus-one. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end will be down the road at SoFi Stadium playing against the LA Chargers. Even though the game is airing ahead of the Golden Globes on the same network, CBS, the 34-year-old football star is expected to focus on the game and then head back with the team to Kansas City — that means no after-party sightings either. It makes sense since Kelce and his teammates have their eyes on the playoffs and hopefully, the Super Bowl in February. 

Swift has five Golden Globe nominations so far, but she’s never won. She was last nominated for the song “Carolina” for Best Original Song — Motion Picture for Where the Crawdads Sing in 2023. She’s up against some tough competition in her new category, including Barbie, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, John Wick: Chapter 4, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, Oppenheimer, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and The Super Mario Bros. Movie. It might be Swift battling Barbie or Oppenheimer for that coveted statuette. 

So, fans will have to look for another opportunity to see Swift and Kelce on the red carpet. The Grammy Awards might seem like the most logical place because she is nominated for six awards, and it takes place on Feb. 4 — just days ahead of her Eras Tour picking back up in Japan. If the Kansas City Chiefs make it to the Super Bowl again this year, then that couple moment will slip by because the big game will be played on Feb. 11. Fans might have a very long wait.
