Despite many fans claiming that Penelope Cruz hasn’t aged a day, we know that’s not true. Along with being unbelievably talented and gorgeous, she’s so incredibly wise and is about to turn 50 this year! It’s quite hard to fathom, but it’s true, and she’s embracing everything that it brings (along with making light of this rather divisive subject in Hollywood).
When asked about celebrating her 50th birthday by Entertainment Tonight, she said she plans to live to be 100 years old and is “really looking at it as the beginning of the second part of my life.”
And then, she joked about AI. While admitting she’s not “happy” with the industry changing its tune and planning to use AI with their practices, she joked about how she can see it being useful in the long run when she wants to spend time with her kids and grandkids.
The Oscar-winner joked, saying that AI could be useful to keep her around “much longer” while with her family.
Cruz has always been an advocate for breaking barriers when it comes to age, and knocking down ageism in the industry whenever she can. So we seriously love she reinstated her stance on this, along with adding a family-oriented spin to it all. Forever an icon!
For those who don’t know, Cruz and her husband Javier Bardem originally met on set back in 1992. But they didn’t get together 15 years later, specifically in 2007. They married in 2010 and share two children named Leo Encinas Cruz, born in Jan 2011, and Luna Encinas Cruz, born in July 2013.
