The Suits reunion at the Golden Globes with Patrick J. Adams, Gabriel Macht, Gina Torres, and Sarah Rafferty on Sunday night was an epic moment. Only Adams and Macht had been announced as presenters, so it was so special to see the four cast members up there after the show climbed up the streaming charts over the summer.
Torres revealed to Variety what the former cast’s group texts looked like after they realized their show had a new generation of fans. “When it all came through, we were all texting each other,” she shared. “Yes, our text thread is insane right now. So it’s very exciting.” Unfortunately, there is one bold-faced name left out of the equation: Meghan Markle.
Torres gave some insight as to why the Duchess of Sussex has been excluded from the friendly chat. “We don’t have her number,” she explained. “We just don’t. So she’ll see, she’ll watch. She’ll be happy that we’re here.” It wouldn’t be surprising to hear that Meghan had to change her cell phone number after she became a royal family member for security reasons, but it feels a bit sad that she couldn’t celebrate the unexpected joy about the show with her former costars.
Meghan could have been a part of the Golden Globes reunion, though, according to Page Six. “We asked the duchess, but we were told that, unfortunately, she had a previous commitment,” a show source told the media outlet. While her whereabouts were unknown, Adams, who played her romantic interest on-screen, only had fond things to say about the Duchess of Sussex.
He thought a return to acting would be a great move for her. “I think Meghan is a fantastic actress,” Adams told E! News. “We’d be lucky to have her back in the industry.” And if fans want a Mike Ross and Rachel Zane reunion, he’s open to it as well. So, Meghan might want to dust off her address book and give her Suits friends a call. It sounds like they miss her.
