While there were many viral-making moments at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards, like Taylor Swift’s dead-pan reaction to Jo Koy’s joke about her or Kristen Wiig and Will Farell making everyone laugh and dance while they presented, fans were especially taken aback by one moment caught on camera between Emily Blunt and John Krasinski. In the video, in which Krasinski whispered in Blunt’s ear on the carpet, fans speculated that the actor said something about “divorce.”
And while fans had other theories on what The Quiet Place director said, including “I can’t wait to get through this” or “I can’t wait to get indoors,” the possible “divorce” comments had longtime fans of the couple sounding the alarms.
Luckily for those fans, however, sources close to the couple are finally clearing the air. “There are no issues with Emily and John,” a source told Us Weekly. “They are absolutely not talking about divorce.”
And, in addition to letting the world know the two are still going strong, it seems like they even got a kick from the recent rumor mill. “They think the rumors are funny and ridiculous,” the source said.
Prior to the divorce rumors going around, Blunt and Krasinski, who have been married since 2010 and share daughters Violet, 7, and Hazel, 9, together, had shown so many signs of how strong they’ve been over the years.
“The air changes in the room when she starts doing what she does,” Krasinski once gushed to Vanity Fair of his wife’s acting chops. “It’s so honest and so pure and so powerful. It’s like a superpower that she can just unlock and do so specifically with not many attempts.”
Over a year later, when Blunt won a SAG Award for her role in their movie together, A Quiet Place, Blunt made Krasinski blush in her speech. “I am going to share this completely with my husband, John Krasinski, because the entire experience of doing this with you has completely pierced my heart directly,” she said, per People. “You are a stunning filmmaker. I am so lucky to be with you and to have done this film with you.”
