Sofía Vergara Is Being Recruited for This Iconic Reality Show Amid Her Joe Manganiello Divorce

Sofía Vergara is one of Hollywood’s busiest actresses right now as she juggles her upcoming Netflix crime show, Griselda, and her judge’s role on America’s Got Talent. However, there’s one Bravo TV personality who thinks that the 51-year-old star should join a very iconic reality series.

Erika Jayne told Entertainment Tonigh that she would love to recruit Vergara to be a cast member on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. “She wouldn’t need me to get her on any show; she’s fabulous, and yes, she’d be an awesome diamond holder,” she said enthusiastically. The Bravolebrity isn’t wrong about this either because Vergara would have a fascinating tale to share, especially on the heels of her divorce from Joe Manganiello.

What might surprise fans is that the Modern Family actress already starred in her reality show called Vergaraland. It was a blink-and-you-miss-it 2015 series that was a part of Snapchat’s Discover service. The show looked at Vergara’s life from the perspective of her then-22-year-old son Manolo González Vergara. The posts only stayed on the platform for 24 hours, so fans would have had to follow her son’s account very carefully. “Manolo finally graduated, and I am very happy for his alliance with Fusion to create such an innovative series,” she told Varietyin a statement after the announcement of the show.

Vergara has been a strong proponent for telling Latin stories in Hollywood and she’s put a spotlight on the issue nine years ago in an interview with the Los Angeles Times. “The problem is there aren’t Latin people creating content,” she noted. “Many of them are doing soap operas. It is a lack of Latin people writing. It’s not the fault I think of an American writer. Usually, when you write, you write what you know about.”

Her upcoming streaming miniseries, premiering on Jan. 25, follows the story of  “the savvy and ambitious Colombian businesswoman Griselda Blanco, who created one of the most profitable cartels in history,” according to Netflix’s website. She’s barely recognizable in the teaser she shared with her followers last November — the storyline looks intense. So, viewers probably won’t see Vergara sparring with Jayne and Kyle Richards anytime soon, she’s got an Emmy to win.
