No matter what different outlets report, it’s pretty clear that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle do have quite a few A-list buddies. Not only are they best buddies with power couple Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, but they have been seen out and about with many stars like Kevin Costner, Kelly Rowland, and more. However, their one friendship with this a-lister has been put under the microscope, especially after people found out about his ties to Harry’s mother Princess Diana.
In case you missed it, Harry is being honored with the Living Legend award at the 21st annual Living Legends of Aviation Awards. This award is given to those who made “significant contributions to aviation,” and this decision has sparked major backlash. But one detail people may have missed about this announcement is that he will be presented the award by John Travolta.
Sources told the Mirror that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex “get on extremely well” with Travolta. They met him in 2023 during a meeting at The Beverly Hill Hotel’s VIP Polo Lounge, and they claim the three get along swimmingly.
Now, for those who don’t know, Travolta knew Diana. They met back in 1985 at a White House gala dinner. They danced together for 15 minutes to an array of songs, including the Grease classic “You’re The One That I Want,” creating one of the most iconic pop culture moments in the past 50 years.
In a previous interview, per Vanity Fair, Travolta said “Yes, I danced with Princess Diana in 1986, I believe. That was one of the highlights of my life, so that’s probably the best moment of the eighties.”
