Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have welcomed a new member of the family! No, it’s not another baby everyone has been wanting, it’s one of Ellen DeGeneres’s chickens!
On Jan 13, DeGeneres shared a photo of one of her chickens in her and Portia de Rossi’s coup to her Instagram. She posted the photo with the caption reading, “Sinkie’s leg is fixed but our chickens were still picking on her so she had to be re-homed. Luckily our friends Harry and Meghan’s coop had room for one more. Not sure yet what her royal title will be.”
So, as you can see, it seems Meghan and Harry have added a new member to the family: an A-list chicken named Sinkie, and the internet adores the fact that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have adopted this rehabilitated pet.
When you check out the comments, they are flooded with fans excitedly saying how happy Meghan and Harry’s children, Prince Archie and Princess Llilbet, will be with the new addition. They wrote things like: “Gotta love Harry and Meghan ♥️ I’m sure Archie and Lili will take excellent care of little Sinkie 🐓,” “Sinkie, is lucky. Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet will spoil her ❤️❤️ 😘,” and “I’m sure Archie is going to become Sinkie’s best bud 😂.”
Now, you may be wondering, “When did Harry and Meghan get a love for chickens?” Well, we all know that the pair share three dogs together: a beagle named Guy, a Labrador-shepherd mix named Bogart, and a rescue lab named Pula; but their love for animals doesn’t stop there.
Let’s take it back to 2021, during their interview with Oprah: they actually showed fans their chicken coup on their Montecito property. Per People, they even call their coup: “Archie’s Chick Inn — established 2021.” Meghan even said in the interview: “I just love rescuing.”
Also, for those who don’t know, Harry and Meghan have been pals with DeGeneres for years. Per Nicki Swift, Meghan and DeGeneres were buddies years prior to Meghan even getting together with Harry, and fast forward to now: the pair are neighbors with DeGeneres and de Rossi.
