Sowing the Seeds of Love: Meet the Four Men Looking for Romance in Season 2 of Farmer Wants a Wife

What happens when four single farmers want to find love in America’s heartland? Well, you can find out on season 2 of Farmer Wants a Wife, hosted by Sugarland member Jennifer Nettles. The show follows four single men looking to settle down who are matched with women from the city, who have also been unlucky at finding love. The women will try to prove they are ready for life in the countryside, and of course, for love.

It’s the perfect show for fans of reality dating shows, but with a twist as Farmer Wants a Wife takes us on scenic locations—from Missouri to South Carolina—as women leave behind dating apps and “the big city.” It’s an authentic look at what it’s like to find love that doesn’t shy away from day-to-day life on the farm (there will be women tending to the homestead and feeding cattle and baling hay). For the daters, the realities of this lifestyle may beg the question: how much of your life are you willing to change for love? Find out during the premiere on Thursday, February 1 at 9/8c on Fox and next day Hulu. In the meantime, take a sneak peek below to see the men hoping to find love this season.

Ty Ferrell, 42

Ty Ferrell is a team roper from Sikeston, Missouri. He’s looking for someone to be his partner and person for “the good, bad, and everything in between.” He’s the only farmer who has a child, and calls her his “everything.”  Tune in to the premiere to learn more about Ty and to see if his daughter gives any of the women her stamp of approval.

Nathan Smothers, 23

Nathan Smothers is a fourth-generation citrus and cattle farmer living and working in his hometown of Bartow, Florida. His dad passed away when he was 12, which at an early age, made him feel like he had to provide for his sisters and mom. That said, family is very important to him and he’s hoping that with Farmer Wants a Wife, he can find his “forever person.”

Mitchell Kolinsky, 27

Mitchell Kolinsky lives and works in Mount Juliet, Tennessee. He’s a first-generation horse, corn, and soybean farmer who is looking for a partner to grow the farm with him. He grew up spending a lot of time outdoors and even now, loves to be in the wilderness hunting. “This land gives me the greatest peace,” he says. “If I could share it with someone special — that would mean the world to me.”

Brandon Rogers, 29

Brandon Rogers is a second-generation potato and barley farmer living in Center, Colorado, a small, one-stoplight town. He grew up working on the farm with his dad and later returned to work there full-time. Now, he just wants to find “a partner and best friend” who likes this lifestyle.
