Within the past few years, many former members of the Playboy franchise and mansion have spoken out against the disturbing acts Hugh Hefner did behind the scenes. Stars like Crystal Hefner, Holly Madison, and Bridget Marquardt have all spoken out against what they endured, and one of the latest stars to speak out about how they’ve dealt with the trauma Hefner gave them is Kendra Wilkinson.
In a recent interview with People, Wilkinson revealed that mere hours after Hefner’s died in 2017, she got high at a Sublime concert.
“Look, at the end of the day, I owe Hef nothing,” she said. “I’m not going to sit here and protect him. Hugh Hefner decided to date millions of girls, right? That’s not my responsibility. And whatever happened with him, with his relationships, that was his thing. It’s not my responsibility to protect a man for his life choices.”
She added how much her time at the Playboy mansion affected her. “I got into deep regret [afterward]. I got to that point where I started hating myself [and asking], ‘Why did I have sex with Hugh Hefner?’” she said. “I hated my boobs, my body, my face. I got to that point where I started hating myself.” (But she’s been in therapy and has been working to heal her wounds).
Now, this is the exact opposite of what she said, soon after Hefner passed away in 2017. She actually told E! News. “Hef changed my life,” she said. “He made me the person I am today. I couldn’t be more thankful for our friendship and our time together. I will miss him so much but he will be in my heart forever.”
But, we love that she’s being more transparent, an more honest about her trauma journey. Wilkinson is no longer holding back on how she really felt after Hefner’s death, an fans are rejoicing over it.
For those who don’t know, Wilkinson was one of the stars of the show The Girls Next Door, and rose to fame as one of Hefner’s young girlfriends. They started dating in 2004, when she was merely 18, and he was 77 years old. They were together until 2008.
