Malia Obama’s Reaction to Public Life Shows How She’s the Polar Opposite of Her Parents

When Barack Obama and Michelle Obama became US President and the First Lady, they were constantly under the spotlight. Fast forward to 2024, and they’re not exactly always under the spotlight, but they definitely don’t shy away from the fact that they’re incredibly popular public figures. However, their daughters are the exact opposite, especially their elder daughter Malia Obama.

Not much is known about the Obama daughters, Malia and Sasha, except for what their parents divulge in rare interviews. However, EOnline noted how different she is from her parents when it comes to her public presence.

While Sasha keeps an ultra-low profile away from the public eye, Malia has found her own way into the A-list world: through writing and directing. She recently made her red carpet debut at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival to premiere her short film, but that’s the biggest public thing she’s done in years.

“Since graduating from Harvard with a degree in Visual and Environmental Studies in 2021, Malia has remained more tight-lipped than a member of the royal family,” the outlet said. “Like, queen-level tight-lipped. She avoids interviews, stays out of the kind of trouble that ends up in public records and, if she has a social media presence, reserves it for a closely vetted inner circle.”

Which is 100 percent true!

She has no known social media, stays away from paparazzi whenever she can, and avoids interviews as much as possible.

All celebrities deal with fame differently, and with the influx of social media platforms in the past 20 years, it’s understandable that many want to stay away from the public eye. But we’re sure that even if she stays rather tight-lipped, so many people have sung her praises, and she’ll still have a bright future in Tinseltown.

For those who don’t know, the Becoming author and former US President Barack Obama have two children together. After getting married in 1992, Michelle and Barack welcomed two daughters through IVF named Malia Ann, born on July 4, 1998, and Natasha (better known as Sasha), born on June 10, 2001.
