Leonardo DiCaprio’s Reaction to Lily Gladstone’s Oscar Nomination Proves He’s the Co-Star of Anyone’s Dream

While Leonardo DiCaprio might have quite a reputation in the industry for being an incredible actor yet one of Hollywood’s most notorious ladies’ men, there’s one aspect of his life that stays under the radar: his sweet friendships with his co-stars. In fact, his newfound partnership with Killers of the Flower Moon co-star Lily Gladstone has proven he’s quite the co-star of anyone’s dreams.

Talking to Extra, Gladstone looked back at the moment she received her Oscar nomination for the movie earlier this week and opened up about DiCaprio’s reaction. “He was maybe the third person to text me after the news came in,” Gladstone, who became the first Native American woman to be nominated for Best Actress, remembered.

“He was just so proud,” she said.

As a reminder, while Gladstone made history with her nomination, DiCaprio did not secure a spot in the Best Actor category. “I told him that I was watching with my parents and, ‘We’re celebrating me, but we’re also, like, collectively very pissed off for you,'” she said of DiCaprio’s snub.

And while DiCaprio focused on her in his congratulatory text, Gladstone made a point to defend DiCpario’s touching performance in the Martin Scorsese-directed movie.

“He did such an incredible job in this and he made an impossible character just so vivid, and it made my job so much easier, so I really want to share this, this moment with him,” she told the outlet.

Gladstone went on to share another supportive co-star moment with DiCaprio. “He told me right before the Globes, ‘No matter the outcome, I think you’re amazing and I’m proud of you,'” Gladstone said, adding that he’s “the greatest actor.”

That night, Gladstone went on to win the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Drama while DiCaprio lost to Oppenheimer star Cillian Murphy.

Despite the losses and snubs, it looks like these two will be there for each other no matter what!
