In Britney Spears‘ bombshell tell-all memoir, The Woman in Me, the “Toxic” singer laid it all out on the table. From her terrifying conservatorship to her infidelity during her relationship with Justin Timberlake, Spears opened up about so many never-before-seen confessions.
Now, a few months after the memoir’s best-selling success, it seems like Spears is willing to turn the page. In a since-deleted Instagram post, the singer seemingly apologized to Timberlake for airing out their dirty laundry and even gave a shoutout to his new song, “Selfish.”
“I wanna apologize for some of the things I wrote about in my book,” Spears wrote in the caption, per BBC. “If I offended any of the people I genuinely care about, I am deeply sorry.”
“I also wanted to say I am in love with Justin Timberlake’s new song, Selfish,” she continued. “It is so good – and how come every time I see Justin and Jimmy [Fallon] together, I laugh so hard?”
Timberlake’s new song, “Selfish,” was released last week as a part of his major comeback to music. In the music video, Timberlake is seen showing off his best dance moves while singing about a girl he just can’t help but be “selfish” over. “So if I get jealous, I can’t help it / I want every bit of you, I guess I’m selfish,” he sings. “It’s bad for my mental, but I can’t fight it, when / You’re out lookin’ like you do, but you can’t hide it, no.”
In addition to the new song and video, Timberlake was also joined by his best friend Jimmy Fallon as a musical guest at Saturday Night Live.
Together with “Selfish,” Timberlake, who crashed SNL host Dakota Johnson’s opening monologue, also performed another new song from his new album, titled “Sanctified,” per People.
It looks like Spears, just like us, are all aboard the Timberlake Express! Do we hear a reconciliation coming soon between these two? This apology definitely seems so!
