Kate Middleton’s Inner Circle During Her Recovery Includes This Trusted Royal Adviser

Now that Kate Middleton has been released from The London Clinic and is officially beginning her healing journey from abdominal surgery, she will be leaning on her inner circle in the coming months. While Prince William and her parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, top that list, there is also a key trusted adviser who was spotted leaving the hospital the other day: Natasha Archer.

Archer started as a personal assistant for William and Prince Harry in 2007 at Kensington Palace, eventually taking on Kate as well when she married into the royal family in 2011. In 2014, their relationship took a major turn when Queen Elizabeth II reportedly asked Archer to make Kate’s style more “regal” ahead of the then-Cambridge’s tour of Sydney, Australia. According to Grazia, via the Daily Mail, Archer became Kate’s official “style adviser.”

“Natasha and Kate get on very well,” a source told the magazine in 2014. “She has always supported and advised Kate – and the Duchess loves Natasha’s style, so it seemed like an obvious appointment. Natasha has been helping Kate pick outfits for the tour. The Princess of Wales has never had to worry about Archer’s loyalty over the years because she’s been with her through major life milestones, including the birth of her three children and the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Archer’s husband, Chris Jackson, is also a well-known royal photographer, shooting snapshots for Getty Images, so they are tied in tight with the palace. That commitment to the future king and queen was rewarded in 2019 when William appointed her a Member of the Royal Victorian Order — it shows how dedicated Archer has been to the couple since their dating years.

While Kate recovers, she won’t be needing Archer’s services as a stylist, but she will need her friend and adviser’s unwavering support. The fact that Archer was the only person outside of the royal family to visit the Princess of Wales in the hospital speaks volumes. Archer is always there to help a princess, but she also is there as a close friend.
