Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Suffer a Business Setback Just as They Were Getting Back on Track

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been looking forward to 2024 as a restart to their work in Hollywood, but they reportedly have hit a setback at Archewell Productions. Bennett Levine, who spent almost three years working with the royal couple, has moved on to another entertainment industry job.

While the British tabloids will have everyone believing that it’s a “blow” to Harry and Meghan, Levine’s rise from coordinator to manager, and now to a new company with an elevated title, tracks with anyone who wants to work in Hollywood. In order to rise up the ladder, creatives have to job hop to keep their trajectory rising. So, while it’s a setback because Harry and Meghan have to find a replacement, it’s not going to put Archewell Productions out of business by any means.

A source told the Daily Mail, “It’s a blow to the company. There’s no doubt about that.” However, Levine’s exit is barely making the news in the U.S., and that includes major entertainment trades like The Hollywood Reporter and Variety. Levine simply announced the news on his LinkedIn page with an autogenerated post from the site, “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Tracking Executive at Cinetic Media!” No drama here.

The Mirror is also claiming that Harry and Meghan’s Netflix deal is on the verge of cancellation when it expires in 2025, according to their PR expert Mayah Riaz. “The couple might decide they do not want to continue,” she said. “I believe due to the future producing roles the couple are expected to be involved in, they may feel that they are not able to offer anything to Netflix. Therefore, the partnership may not be renewed.”

Somehow Riaz is forgetting that Netflix publicly praised their partnership with the Sussexes a little over seven months ago. “We value our partnership with Archewell Productions,” a Netflix rep told People in June 2023. “Harry & Meghan was Netflix’s biggest documentary debut ever, and we’ll continue to work together on a number of projects, including the upcoming documentary series Heart of Invictus.”

Levine’s departure, like any employee, involves a transitional period, but he’s enjoying a new stage of his career as Harry and Meghan plot their next steps in Hollywood.
