Cher Made a Cozy Appearance With Boyfriend Alexander Edwards Amid Courtroom Drama

It’s Grammys week in Los Angeles and the music industry is throwing fancy parties ahead of the big show on Sunday. Cher made sure to make an appearance with her boyfriend, Alexander “AE” Edwards, and they sure looked cozy together. The sighting at the Warner Music Group pre-Grammys event comes on the heels of a difficult week for the 77-year-old superstar, who suffered a legal setback in her battle to help her son, Elijah Blue Allman.

Despite the bad news, Cher appeared to be in great spirits with Edwards with their coordinated all-black ensembles. The “Believe” singer wore a fitted long-sleeve shirt paired with bejeweled faded-wash jeans. Her long blonde hair was styled with bouncy curls, but we have to say her accessories took the outfit to the next level. A chunky statement necklace and her silver-sequin, fingerless gloves brought back some ’80s glam — it was fabulous!

The 38-year-old music producer kept his look classic with a long black coat, black shirt, and matching faded-wash jeans. He also sported a statement necklace similar to Cher’s piece — the couple that dresses together, stays together! Edwards appeared supportive throughout the night as she promoted her new gelato company, Cherlato, and he fed her a taste of her delicious frozen dessert, according to People.

The lovely night on the town was probably a relief for Cher after her request for a temporary emergency conservatorship for her 47-year-old son was denied. The judge stated that there was not “sufficient evidence” to rule in her favor despite concerns about Allman’s mental health, according to People. Cher’s attorney shared that the singer “feared that her son would not be alive within the year” because of his “history of drug use” and his ongoing issues with “schizoaffective disorder.” Her legal team added, “Cher was told by doctors that if she did not take this step as his mother that he will once again end up on the street.”

The judge believes there is plenty of evidence that points to Allman being able to take care of himself because he has shelter, maintains his finances, and “has remained drug-free” after several court-ordered tests. But the conversation isn’t over because there will be another hearing on March 6 to discuss the conservatorship case. It’s obviously an issue Cher cares deeply about, and it seems like Edwards is offering his ongoing support amid the troubled waters.
