Dakota Johnson’s Showstopping Naked Dress Is a Stylish Nod to One of Her Upcoming Roles

Dakota Johnson’s latest red carpet look is not only an instant fan-favorite, but it’s a stylish nod to her upcoming film Madame Web.

On Feb 4, Johnson shared a series of photos from her latest red carpet event: the 2024 Vogue Brasil Ball. She shared the photos to her Instagram with the caption reading, “BR♥️ZIL #madameweb.”

You can see the photos HERE!

In the photos, we see Johnson perfectly embodying her Madame Web character, specifically embracing the method of dressing in a spiderweb-themed gown. For those who don’t know, she’s donning a custom Annie’s Ibiza piece (typically their Cobweb Mini Dress is above the knee, but Johnson had a gown-length version). It came with a matching headdress, and both pieces were sheer, covered in crystals.

Along with the look styled by Kate Young, she got her hair done by Mark Townsend, had the spider ring accessory from NN | Art, and had her makeup done by Georgie Eisdell.

Not only did Johnson win the naked dress trend with this look, but she also looked absolutely radiant in this daring ensemble.

In a rare previous interview with Vogue, Johnson’s longtime stylist Kate Young discussed what the Fifty Shades of Grey star typically gravitates towards. “Classic, minimal, elegant, with just a little bit of fashion for day. Dakota wants to be a disco ball,” she said, adding that she got her love for sparkle after seeing her mother Melanie Griffith in so many sparkling gowns over the years.

Young added that Johnson “likes clothes. Not all actresses do,” and that Johnson isn’t one for trends. “She is never like, ‘I need to wear this because I saw it on Instagram.’”

Starring Johnson, Sydney Sweeney, and more, Madame Web is a Marvel superhero movie that follows Cassandra Webb (Johnson), who can see the future. She and three young women work together to survive a deadly adversary who’s after them. It is set to be released on Feb 14, and you can see the trailer below:
