At 82 years old, Martha Stewart has proven that this season of life can look pretty spectacular. While she’s revealed that she has never had a facelift, the lifestyle guru is definitely utilizing other tools to keep herself with that youthful glow. That’s why we appreciate the honest conversation she had with her cosmetic dermatologist, Dr. Dan Belkin, on the Season 2 premiere of her iHeartMedia show, The Martha Stewart Podcast.
She wanted to “set the record straight” about the procedures she has had done because she sees “so many comments are about my facelift and who did it and when did I have it done and how much retouching is on the photograph.” Belkin, with Stewart’s permission, shared what he’d done to her face over the years, including cheek filler and Botox in her neck and jawline. There is one area, though, that she doesn’t love to utilize injectables. “My eyebrows kind of go up in a V and that looks so unnatural,” she said.
There is more to her skin tightening story, and that’s where Belkin jumped in to explain the procedures since Stewart admitted, “I don’t even know what I’ve had.” He said, “We’ve done a little ultrasound tightening I think, a long time ago. We did a little softwave, which is an ultrasound-based tightening device. And we’ve done a little bit of Ulthera, which is a great ultrasound-based skin tightening that works.”
A lot of his work was on display when Stewart broke glass ceilings by being the oldest model to ever land a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover at the age of 81. Her stunning photos defied the antiquated standards that only youth is worshipped in society. Stewart wants to look her best in every decade no matter what. “I don’t think a lot about age, but I don’t want to look my age at all. And that’s why I really work hard at it,” she added.
Last year, Stewart patted herself on the back for achieving such a goal in her 80s. “To be on the cover at my age was a challenge. And I think I met the challenge,” she said on the Today show. “I didn’t starve myself, but I didn’t eat any bread or pasta for a couple of months. I went to Pilates every other day. And I just, I live a clean life anyway — good diet and good exercise and healthy skincare and all of that stuff.” Stewart has the secret formula to keep that gorgeous glow at any age.
