While couples around the world were celebrating Valentine’s Day, Salma Hayek and her husband François-Henri Pinault, felt an extra bit of love. Fifteen years ago, the dynamic duo walked down the aisle on the most romantic day of the year. To mark the major milestone, the 57-year-old actress honored her fashion–mogul spouse with the sweetest message on Instagram.
“After 18 years together and 15 years of marriage, you still make loving you easy, fun, deep and fresh like a gentle breeze. Happy anniversary mi amor ❤️,” she wrote on her post which included a chic black-and-white snapshot of them at a fancy party together. (You can see the photo HERE.) Hayek looks right at the camera with a happy gaze as one curl covered her eye. Pinault, dressed in a crisp white shirt and dark blazer, lovingly looked at his wife with his hand gently resting at her waist. It was the perfect candid to share on their double celebration day.
Hayek believes that the secret to their success is found in their continued desire to “support each other.” She told reporters in 2017 at Harper’s Bazaar‘s 150 Most Fashionable Women celebration, via People, “I married the right guy. That is probably the most important thing. We support each other in everything we do. We want the other one to strive. Makes you happy when the other one strives. And you know what, we don’t have a very strong social life, because we really like to spend time together. So we do spend a lot of quality time together.”
Her fairy-tale life with Pinault also includes their daughter Valentina, who was born in 2007. Hayek is also stepmother to Pinault’s children from his first marriage, Mathilde and François, as well as Augustin James, from his relationship with supermodel Linda Evangelista. “Sometimes the hardest things to balance is motherhood with marriage,” she noted. “They take over, oh my God, they take over everything.”
But don’t worry, Hayek made sure to give her hubby plenty of “tender loving care” over the years, and it’s likely going to get easier with her daughter turning 17 later this year. They are almost empty-nesters, so it will just be the two of them again with more romantic moments to come.
