Jennifer Lopez Has Some Serious Thoughts About Anyone Trying To Meddle in Ben Affleck Marriage

The world has officially been warned — stay away from Jennifer Lopez‘s husband, Ben Affleck! The 54-year-old superstar, who is currently promoting her new album and movie, This Is Me… Now, stopped by Today With Hoda and Jenna to play a silly game called “This Is Me… Now or Then?” where Hoda Kotb asked her questions about her personal life. Lopez had to response as to whether it described her in the past or in the present. 

Kotb wasted no time getting into one particular hot topic by asking if she “gets jealous if someone hits on your significant other.” Lopez’s “Now” paddle went up in the air as she crinkled up her face with a frown. That’s all fans need to know about how she feels if someone flirts with Affleck. “Don’t play with me. Do not play with me,” the “Jenny From the Block” singer said half-jokingly. The Today host wasn’t going to let the conversation end there, so she prodded Lopez one step further. 

She asked, “What would you do if someone started flirting with Ben?”

“First of all, I’m a lover, not a fighter, but I will let them know in a very elegant and lady-like way to step all the way off,” Lopez responded. Now, everyone knows not to cross over any boundaries in the Lopez-Affleck household, otherwise, J.Lo will step in. 

This revelation comes on the heels of Lopez sharing their breakup timeline ahead of their canceled September 2003 wedding. Many fans did not realize that she and Affleck stayed together for another four months before they officially broke up in January 2004. 

At the time, the couple formerly known as Bennifer, told People why they weren’t moving ahead with the wedding. “Due to the excessive media attention surrounding our wedding, we have decided to postpone the date,” the statement read. “When we found ourselves seriously contemplating hiring three separate ‘decoy brides’ at three different locations, we realized that something was awry. We began to feel that the spirit of what should have been the happiest day of our lives could be compromised. We felt what should have been a joyful and sacred day could be spoiled for us, our families and our friends.”

Lopez and Affleck now have perspective on what went wrong the first time around and she admitted to Zane Lowe in her Apple Music interview, “We just weren’t mature enough in that way” to figure it out. But over two decades later, the duo is operating on solid ground.
