There are always major fashion trends making an appearance on the Oscars red carpet — some years it is a pop of color, but it looks like this year is all about the color black. From Jamie Lee Curtis to Rita Moreno, everyone looked sleek and chic in their ensembles, and two celebrities showed up in very similar gowns for a fun twinning moment.
Eva Longoria‘s structured dress, designed by Tamara Ralph Haute Couture, was a structured dream. The form-fitting silhouette hugged her gorgeous curves as the neckline showed off her décolletage with the off-the-shoulder design. A pool of fabric elegantly draped by her feet creating a gorgeous train — this dress is a stunner! The 48-year-old actress kept her hair shiny and straight as she paired the outfit with a dramatic diamond choker and simple diamond earrings from Bucherer Fine Jewellery and glam from L’Oreal Paris products.
This show-stopping fashion moment also had a twin on the Oscars red carpet with Best Actress nominee for Anatomy of a Fall, Sandra Hüller. She showed up in a similarly elegant design by Schiaparelli — black, off-the-shoulder, and a curve-hugging silhouette. The only real difference was that the sleeves took on the shape of wings, giving it a bolder look. Hüller kept her makeup natural and dewy, swept her hair back, and let gown do all of the talking. Both women look so incredible with their own interpretations and styling of their Oscars looks.
Longoria, a veteran of the red carpet, has a very wise strategy when it comes to picking out a gown. “A lot of these red carpets and award shows are very long, so the first thing I ask myself is ‘Can I sit in that dress?’ I’ve also been walking red carpets for 25 years, so I know what silhouettes look good on me, what makeup looks good on me and what dress colors I should stick with,” she explained to WWD in February 2023. “I describe myself as a laid-back fashionista.”
When it comes down to making that final selection for a big red-carpet moment, Longoria noted that it’s all about a “good silhouette” for her. Well, she and Hüller chose wisely because their twinning Oscars moment is one for the fashion books!
