Ivanka Trump and Karlie Kloss have long-battled the rumors that they don’t get along. Are they enemies or close sisters-in-law? Well, the answer might be somewhere in between because they certainly aren’t besties, but they don’t hate each other either. Let’s just say, it’s complicated.
The latest tea on their relationship was spilled after they both attended the pre-wedding festivities of billionaire Anant Ambani and fiancée Radhika Merchant in India. Ivanka attended with husband Jared Kushner and daughter Arabella Kushner, 13. Kloss was there with husband Joshua Kushner, but Page Six reported that the two families were not photographed together. That detail raised a few eyebrows since the couples had traveled halfway across the world for a very big event.
A source close to the families promised that the women maintain a “good relationship” even though they have been “tested” by Ivanka and Jared’s choice to go work for Donald Trump at the White House in 2017. Ivanka and the supermodel “get along” but they wouldn’t be considered “best friends” by anyone in their inner circle.
It’s no secret that Kloss is not a fan of Donald Trump’s politics and she spoke out about her voting choices ahead of the 2016 and 2020 elections. “Accepting the results of a legitimate democratic election is patriotic. Refusing to do so and inciting violence is anti-American,” she wrote on what was then-Twitter on Jan. 6, 2021.
A follower replied, “Tell your sister in law and brother law.” Kloss was quick to respond, “I’ve tried.” That insight showed how difficult a time she and her husband had with two family members working for a very divisive administration. A second Page Six source said in 2021 that Ivanka was “hurt” by the very public post from her sister-in-law. “The tweet was brought to Ivanka’s attention and she was mostly surprised because they’re so close and talk on a regular basis, but never really about politics,” they added.
Ivanka and Jared have stepped far away from politics after Donald Trump exited the White House in 2021. It might have made their relationship a bit easier with Joe Biden taking over, so fans shouldn’t read too much into their lack of snapshots together on Instagram. “Ivanka and Karlie have a good relationship, they’re in the same family and they spend time at family events together, they also have an overlapping social circle in Miami,” the first insider noted. “They may not be best friends, but it’s wide off the mark to say they don’t get along.” Case closed!
