The Royal Family Are Hiring for a Position That Could Be the Key To Silencing Kate Middleton Rumors

It seems like Kate Middleton can’t catch a break when it comes to all the rampant rumors following her abdominal surgery earlier this year — so Kensington Palace might be hiring someone who could help manage the tidal wave of speculation and whispers surrounding the Princess of Wales. From her first public sighting in 2024, clad in sunglasses and a green suit, to unfounded claims of marital discord and resurfaced rumors of infidelity on Prince William’s part, the narrative around Kate has been anything but quiet.

The year kicked off with concern as Kate underwent abdominal surgery in January, sparking a flurry of worry and speculation about her health. Since then, rumors have ranged from the bizarre and baseless — such as a supposed divorce from Prince William — to more serious concerns regarding her recovery and the implications of her surgery.

In what appears to be a move to quell the rumors and perhaps restore some semblance of control over the narrative, Kensington Palace has posted a job listing for a communications assistant with a starting salary of £25,642.50 — or roughly $33,000 — annually. The role, which requires 37.5 hours a week, is described as offering the opportunity to develop skills on a worldwide platform, joining the team at the heart of a world-famous institution.

The job description highlights key responsibilities that seem tailor-made for the current climate of rampant speculation and rumor-mongering. “The successful candidate will assist with both proactive and reactive communications,” reads the job description — a crucial skill given the need to navigate the delicate balance between addressing false rumors and maintaining the privacy of the royal family. The role also includes producing content for a “variety of platforms,” including media advisories, social media updates, and feature articles,” AKA the royals will no longer be dabbling in Photoshop. The role also involves facilitating and overseeing media access to royal engagements, a task that has become increasingly complex in the face of relentless speculation and interest in the royals’ private lives.

As the palace shores up its defenses against the onslaught of rumors, one thing is clear: The future of royal communication looks set to be more strategic than ever.
