Kate Middleton’s Next Move Might Have Nothing to Do With Going Back to Royal Duties

While we can imagine Kate Middleton and her communications team must be scrambling right now to dispel all the conspiracy theories, a new source is revealing the one unexpected thing the Princess of Wales could do next.

According to attorney and legal expert Neama Rahmani for Us Weekly, Middleton’s next move could be to file a lawsuit against The London Clinic, the hospital in which she had her abdominal surgery which recently revealed a breach in security. “Kate can always file a civil lawsuit for invasion of privacy,” Rahmani detailed. “If she wants to go after the perpetrator to say that her privacy rights were violated, she can absolutely do so.”

According to the few details we already have on the security breach, which was made public earlier this week, it seems at least one member of the Clinic’s staff tried to access the royal’s medical records. And, according to Rahmani, finding the culprit would be easy as pie.

“It’s pretty clear right now whenever you access a file or a site, who’s doing so,” the lawyer said. “It’s just really a question of, did the perpetrator just try to access the data, or was he or she able to actually see it? In which case that would be a very serious violation.”

As for what the consequences might be for this sort of lawsuit, Rahmani said it could range from “a criminal investigation and prosecution” to a professional penalty. “Obviously a doctor or a nurse or a medical professional, they would be licensed, and there’d be a body that regulates them,” the attorney added. “So, there could be some administrative penalty. They could be suspended or even lose their license entirely.”

Prior to this report, a source inside the hospital shared their reaction. “This is a major security breach and incredibly damaging for the hospital, given its unblemished reputation for treating members of the Royal Family,” one insider told Daily Mail. “The whole medical staff have been left utterly shocked and distraught over the allegations and were very hurt that a trusted colleague could have allegedly been responsible for such a breach of trust and ethics.”

So while we continue to wait for more information on Middleton’s recovery and whereabouts, the Princess of Wales might be assessing the idea of taking the Clinic to court. After all, how far will she go to make sure her private matters stay private?
