Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ Latest Business Move Hints That He Knew More Legal Troubles Were Ahead

Sean “Diddy” Combs has been rocked with controversy ever since Cassie Venture filed a civil lawsuit against the music producer for using his power in the entertainment industry to “set the groundwork” for a “manipulative and coercive romantic and sexual relationship.” Even though Combs denied the claims and settled the case the next day, Ventura’s lawsuit seemed to have paved the way for a host of legal woes for Combs.

His latest business move also seems to signal that the widely successful entrepreneur sensed more trouble ahead as he has reportedly sold off his interest in Revolt TV, according to TMZ. Combs stepped aside as chairman at the network last November so that the allegations against him wouldn’t overshadow the work of creatives on Revolt TV, which describes itself as “the unapologetic, authoritative voice of hip-hop culture.”

The new buyer has not been revealed yet, but the outlet noted that the network would continue to be a Black-owned business and deliver o its original mission. The new owner decided to lay low in the wake of the federal raid that was launched on Combs’ Miami and Los Angeles homes earlier this week. They are likely waiting until the headlines have calmed down — the further away they are from the rapper’s controversies, the better.

Homeland Security gave a rather vague statement to Us Weekly about the raid, noting, “Investigations New York executed law enforcement actions as part of an ongoing investigation with assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and our local law enforcement partners. We will provide further information as it becomes available.” However, sources told NBC News that firearms were seized during Monday’s search.

Aaron Dyer, Combs’ attorney, had harsh words for Homeland Security and their “gross overuse of military-level force.” He told the news outlet, “There is no excuse for the excessive show of force and hostility exhibited by authorities or the way his children and employees were treated. Mr. Combs was never detained but spoke to and cooperated with authorities.” The music producer “will continue to fight every single day to clear his name” in the multiple civil suits that have accused him of sexual assault. With the feds now involved, it looks like Combs has a long legal battle ahead of him.
