For Outlander’s final season, fans can look forward to the return of a lot of old faces. Okay, not old per se, but familiar faces that they loved from the past that are coming to their future. Caitríona Balfe and Sam Heughan released a little video from on set with two surprise guests, a beloved couple, that left Outlander in a past season. If you guessed Dougal MacKenzie and Geilles Duncan, you would be incorrect. One of them is dead. (See Claire and Jamie season 2 about that). And the other is a redheaded witch that once tried to off Brianna and Claire, but then Claire took her head off. Not figuratively. Literally. Don’t mess with Claire Fraser. Anyway, here’s who you have to look forward to seeing in season 8. Hint, they love making babies. Even though, one of them asked Claire, specifically, how to not not make babies on her wedding night. And then got pregnant pretty soon after that.
Last week it was announced that Outlander season 8 had begun filming. In today’s video, Balfe and Heughan announced they’ve just finished their first week of filming season 8, and that there are a lot of new cast members and new sets. But, then they reveal old cast members, Lauren Lyle and César Domboy, are back filming as Marsali and Fergus Fraser. That’s right, the Outlander baby makers are back!
Last we saw Fergus and Marsali in season 6, they had been through a lot of drama and trauma, how on brand for Outlander, but left for a better life in Wilmington with Fergus leaning into that printer life for Jamie. Believing he had failed as a man and father, Fergus had tried to take his own life, but was saved by his father, Jamie. Fergus and Marsali are very good at populating the Ridge, but luckily Lizzie and her twusbands have been keeping the procreating coming (I won’t say a word), and the Ridge has lots of little babies running amok. Except, Jamie and Claire aren’t at the Ridge for now, they are about to be back in Scotland, so Fraser’s Ridge is being run by Lizzie and all her husbands. Wild.
