Kim Kardashian’s Last Interaction With O.J. Simpson Is Resurfacing After His Death

The death of O.J. Simpson on April 10 from cancer brings the focus back to the 1995 murder trial and the famous names who were inextricably linked to the tragic event. Kim Kardashian was only 12 years old when the saga began, but it impacted her life forever.

Mom Kris Jenner was BFFs with Nicole Brown Simpson at the time of her killing, and dad Robert Kardashian was on Simpson’s defense team. A Hollywood screenwriter probably couldn’t have come up with this almost unbelievable story! Despite the former NFL star’s acquittal of all charges in 1995, he was shunned in Hollywood (might have been that DNA situation). The 1990s wasn’t the last era Kim ran into the disgraced athlete, she revealed that she had saw him in Miami over a decade ago.

The story was shared on her pal Jonathan “FoodGod” Cheban’s podcast, FoodGod: OMFG, in 2019. “I think the last time I saw him was in Miami. It was before he had gone to jail [for] this, you know, last situation,” Kim said referring to his 2008 conviction for armed robbery and kidnapping. “I think me, Kourtney [Kardashian] and Khloé [Kardashian] were in Miami in a club, and we ran into him in the VIP section. It was behind a stage or something, I don’t even know what club it was at. I started crying. It was emotional, I think.”

The SKIMS founder prefers not to “really talk” about the trial anymore because it brings up many painful memories for her family — and for the Simpson kids, who were collateral damage in the chain of events. “Their lives must be extremely hard to really go through that,” Kim said of his four kids. “So, I always just try to keep to myself on that issue and not bring anything up for them because, you know, every time someone does it’s super traumatic.”

However, she changed her tune during her 2021 SNL monologue when she referenced Simpson while talking about her dad. “It’s because of him that I met my first Black person,” she said. “Want to take a stab in the dark at who it was? I know it’s sort of weird to remember the first Black person you met, but O.J. [Simpson] does leave a mark. Or several. Or none at all, I still don’t know!” The audience went wild about the unexpected joke, but there was one family member who wasn’t so thrilled. Brown Simpson’s sister, Tanya, told TMZ that the joke was in “poor taste.” The pain still lingers from all sides of the case.
