With celebrities like Salma Hayek, Tom Cruise and even the rest of the Spice Girls attending Victoria Beckham‘s glamorous 50th birthday party, it’s hard to think anyone would RSVP “Not attending” to the event. But, as it turns out, Victoria’s very own daughter-in-law Nicola Peltz couldn’t make it.
According to her social media posts, however, her absence was because of a heartwarming reason: she was spending time with her grandmother. On Instagram Stories, the Lola star posted a picture of her hugging her grandma and wrote “My world in my arms,” per Page Six.
With that said, her MIL’s birthday didn’t go unnoticed either. “Happy Birthday to my beautiful MIL @victoriabeckham,” the actress wrote alongside a sweet picture of them on Instagram. “I’m so sad I’m not there to celebrate you and hug you! Sending all my love from me and Naunni.”
Victoria shared a sweet message of her own in the comments. “Love you so much!!!!! Xxxxxxx kisses xxxxxxx,” she wrote.
Prior to her birthday bash absence, Victoria and David Beckham’s oldest son Brooklyn hinted at how his wife and his mom, who were long reported to be feuding, put their differences aside.
“We love Sunday roasts. Me and my dad share a bottle of wine. My mum and Nicola share vodka Snapple,” he revealed in an interview with Grazia in January. “We don’t really watch TV – we just talk and just have fun. It’s just about being in the moment, having a drink, eating food and enjoying each other’s company.”
“We sometimes play games,” he continued. “My wife introduced my family to this game called Fish Bowl [a memory game that combines Charades, Password, and Taboo], which we love to play at gatherings. My mum and dad really like it, we played it a couple of weeks ago when we were together.”
Looks like one big, happy family to us!
