Melania Trumpmight not be too pleased with her husband, Donald Trump, while the hush money trial is going on. Fresh evidence has come to light about the 45th president’s alleged affairs with adult star Stormy Daniels and former Playboy Playmate Karen McDougal, and it’s even surprised one of Melania’s former aides.
It seems that former National Enquirer head David Pecker’s testimony shed quite a hot spotlight on the former president’s proactive response to keeping his reported affairs as private as possible. The damning information is something that Melania likely reacted to, according to Stephanie Grisham, the former White House press secretary and first lady chief of staff.
“The fact that [Trump] asked about her in the White House, the fact that some… White House staff got on the phone with David Pecker to talk about keeping this secret even further. Those were new details to me and so I know they were new details to [Melania] and I’m sure she’s not happy about it,” she told CNN, via Mediaite. While Melania is probably upset to hear about how involved Donald Trump allegedly was in the coverup, the former first lady isn’t going to let the trial ruin her day.
“Now, make no mistake, she’s not sitting at home, you know, crying over this, but you know, like any…married woman or woman in a relationship, it’s not fun to hear these details,” Grisham added. “And I think that the difference between Karen McDougal and Stormy Daniels is that, you know, Karen McDougal hasn’t been really out there in the news. She, you know, says they had a year-long relationship that they exchanged ‘I love you,’ and, you know, I don’t care who you are. That’s never going to be fun to hear.”
Melania has never played the stand-by-your-man card and she won’t start now, which means no possibility of a courtroom appearance. That means the former president’s legal team can’t play the family man card — even though they tried.
“He’s a man. He’s a husband. He’s a father,” Donald Trump’s attorney Todd Blanche told the jury during his opening statement, per Salon. “He’s a person just like you and just like me.” Donald Trump has denied he ever had an affair with either of the women, but there was a hush money payment made to Daniels and a “catch and kill” payment made to McDougal by The National Enquirer which suggests something went on. Those details will be worked out in the court case, but Donald Trump still has to face the toughest jury of all — his wife.
