When King Charles III announced his cancer diagnosis in January, we all knew the royal would have plenty of support. After all, in addition to having his family by his side, he also has the support and well wishes from fans all over the world. And while we all expected some of the royal family members to be more active and open in their support, including Queen Camilla and Prince William, there’s another royal family member who’s not shying away from sharing the love with Charles.
While attending the Endurance event during the Royal Windsor Horse Show at Windsor Castle on May 3, Charles shared a sweet hug with his niece, Zara Tindall (as a reminder, Tindall is the daughter of Princess Anne, Charles’ sister).
In the pictures from the moment, both Tindall and Charles are smiling wide as they embrace each and catch up with smiles stamped across their faces. And while we can’t say for sure if this is the first time Tindall’s seen her uncle in a while, it’s evident how happy she is to have him out and about, and looking as healthy as ever. What a heartwarming reunion!
As a reminder, Charles’ appearance at the Royal Windsor Horse Show, which was one of the late Queen Elizabeth’s favorite events to attend, per People, was only one of his many public appearances this past week. On April 30, Charles made his triumphant return to public-facing duties aptly visiting the University College Hospital Macmillan Cancer Centre.
While talking to fans and hospital staff, Charles proved he’s doing just fine despite his cancer treatment.
“His arms splayed out when he first arrived to suggest his love of being the center of attention,” body language expert Judi James dished to Daily Mail about Charles at the hospital. “He was pointing and joking with the crowds, wearing a wreathed smile of delight to suggest he is happy to get back to work again.”
Looking at Tindall’s face hugging him, we don’t even need a body language expert to say she’s happy he’s doing okay too. Talk about good news all around!
