George and Amal Clooney seem to be one of Hollywood’s most solid power couples, but the next year might test their marriage. The dynamic duo both have massively successful careers that take them all over the globe, but they might be stretched too thin right now.
It seems that George and Amal are both “hardcore workaholics” and living in “their own little bubble,” according to In Touch. The Oscar winner is about to embark on a journey to Broadway, making his debut in the stage adaptation of the 2005 film, Good Night, and Good Luck. The show is expected to premiere in spring 2025. As a noted human rights lawyer, Amal travels between London, the Netherlands, and Lake Como, Italy. “She’s doing so much around the world that most people don’t even know about,” the source revealed. “Her career will never take a back seat to George’s career, and she made that clear to him very early on.”
Their busy and full lives have resulted in a very “chaotic” situation where “the only time they really have to ‘overlap’ is when they’re on vacation.” The insider warned that the Clooneys are in “two very different worlds 90 percent of the day” and “leading separate lives.” The source claimed that pals are concerned about the state of their marriage because they’ve put their careers ahead of each other. “They seem like the picture of bliss on the red carpet, and of course, they always gush about each other in public, but friends are wondering if they’ll make it,” they said.
However, George has gone on record with GQ about how Amal changed his life for the better and he couldn’t imagine his world without her. “I didn’t know how un-full it was until I met Amal,” he shared in 2020. “And then everything changed. And I was like, ‘Oh, actually, this has been a huge empty space.’” He believes their marriage was a game-changer “because I’d never been in the position where someone else’s life was infinitely more important to me than my own. You know? And then tack on two more individuals, who are small and have to be fed.…” We can’t forget about his seven-year-old twins, Ella and Alexander, who factor into George leaving his bachelor lifestyle behind for good.
The good news is that Amal still is an adjunct professor at Columbia University in New York City, so there is going to be a bit more crossover with George’s Broadway debut. Hopefully, they will find themselves in the same city more often and keep that romantic spark alive.
