Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleckhave yet to comment about what is happening in their marriage, but sources close to them are talking about their very different reactions to their reported split. It seems that one of them wants to keep working on their issues while the other may feel like they are at the point of no return.
Lopez, who revealed her romantic side in her Amazon Prime documentary, The Greatest Love Story Never Told, is very emotional about their rocky relationship right now. And who could blame her? She thought that her second time around with Affleck was going to be her happily ever after. An In Touch insider is claiming that the 54-year-old superstar is feeling “humiliated that it’s over already after just two years.” They said, “She’s been crying all the time, going from anger to despair to delusion and even having panic attacks. She’s saying she can’t imagine a scenario where she can exist without Ben in her life, which is putting a ton of pressure on him.”
The Oscar winner is allegedly leaning toward divorce because he can’t find a way to reconcile their differences at this point. “The last thing he wants to do is hurt J. Lo. He still loves and respects her,” the source continued. “Ben wants to do this in a civilized way and make sure the transition is as smooth as possible for the kids.” With their $61 million Beverly Hills home already up for sale, Affleck “wants them to have all their ducks in a row so there’s no messy court battle.” Remember, no one has filed for divorce yet, but Lopez is still holding out hope that they can reconcile.
In 2022, Lopez gushed to People about their reconnection after 17 years apart. “I feel so lucky and happy and proud to be with him,” Lopez said. “It’s a beautiful love story that we got a second chance.” Affleck was equally as complimentary in 2021 just around the time of their reunion in an InStyle cover story.
“I thought I had a good work ethic, but I was completely humbled and blown away by what [Lopez] was committed to doing day in and day out, the seriousness in which she took her work, the quiet and dedicated way she went about accomplishing her goals, and then how she would go back and redouble her efforts,” he praised his future wife. “She remains, to this day, the hardest-working person I’ve come across in this business. She has great talent, but she has also worked very hard for her success, and I’m so happy for her that she seems, at long last, to be getting the credit she deserves.”
It seems that Lopez’s constant need to have multiple projects going and love for the press conflicts with Affleck’s need for privacy and a less frenetic life don’t exactly align. There may be no middle ground with them, but Lopez reportedly hopes that “they can turn things around.”
