All throughout their press tour, Bridgerton‘s season three lovebirds Luke Newton and Nicola Coughlan teased some of their steamy scenes together. In fact, they even admitted to breaking a piece of furniture filming a sex scene. Intriguing, right?
So, now that the second part of their season has officially aired on Netflix, Coughlan and Newton finally revealed what furniture it was. On Instagram, the Derry Girls alum posted a picture of her and Newton giving a thumbs-up next to the chaise where their characters had sex for the first time in the season’s fifth episode.
If you look closely, the leg of the chair is broken, causing the whole piece to look a little lopsided. Coughlan also added a second picture, with a zoomed-up shot of the clean break on the chair.
“Part Two is out now, we put our heart and souls into it, hope you love watching it as much as we loved filming it ❤️,” Coughlan wrote in the caption, adding the hashtag “#PolinForever.”
In the comments, fans of the show, who have surely binged the four new episodes in the past 24 hours, are laughing and raving over the broken furniture reveal.
“I am shocked!!! You gave exactly what we wanted to see..omfg the s*x scene?! I’m screaming 😭😭😭,” wrote one fan. “Screamed, cried and everything in between!” wrote another. “That’s not just a bit broken either 😂😂,” wrote another commenter. “Great fake humping guys! 👏👏👏🔥🔥”
Safe to say the show’s third season, and its steamy sex scene, were a hit with the fans. After all, their carriage and mirror scenes were years in the making.
Prior to Coughlan’s hilarious reveal, she shared sweet before and after shots of her and Newton while shooting season one and filming season three. From their appearances to their costumes, the difference is quite unbelievable. “Year Three- Year One,” Coughlan wrote in the caption on Instagram.
Of course, fans were freaking out over their glow-ups. “Omg am I crying? Must be all the polin 😭💕,” wrote one loving fan. “already sobbing,” wrote another. One of our favorite onscreen couples ever!
