Throughout their lengthy business deal with Netflix, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been behind a few major titles on the platform. From their docuseriesHarry & Meghan to the documentary about The Invictus Games titled Heart of Invictus, the couple have been hard at work making sure this deal doesn’t fall through like Spotify’s. And, most recently, another update shows the couple’s next project might be closer to release than we expected.
According to the Daily Beast, Markle has officially finished filming her show about “the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining, and friendship.” The project was first announced back in April by Variety.
“It all went well and it is in the can,” the source dished to the Daily Beast.
And while the series has yet to announce a name, let alone a release date, Variety already revealed who’s behind the project earlier this year. The show will have Selena + Chef showrunner Leah Hariton behind it as well as My Next Guest Needs No Introduction director Michael Steed. Sony Pictures Television’s Intellectual Property Corporation will produce the series and Markle, Hariton, Archewell’s Chanel Pysnik, and IPC’s Aaron Saidman and Eli Holzman will executive produce.
Alongside the yet-to-be-named project, Variety also announced a new Netflix project about polo that was projected to be shot at the U.S. Open Polo Championship in Wellington, Florida, in March.
“Known primarily for its aesthetic and social scene, the series will pull the curtain back on the grit and passion of the sport, capturing players and all it takes to compete at the highest level,” the statement read.
In addition to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Chanel Pysnik, Ian Samplin and Boardwalk Pictures’ Andrew Fried, Sarina Roma and Dane Lillegard were all set to executive produce. The series showrunner will be the Emmy award-winning filmmaker behind Welcome to Wrexham, Miloš Balać.
