So, it seems Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck may have to deal with something very awkward in a couple of months: go on the red carpet together again amid breakup rumors.
On Sept 2024, the movie Unstoppable will be coming out, specifically premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival. The film, starring Lopez, follows a three-time All-American wrestler born with one leg’s journey to success. It stars Lopez, and two of the producers are, you guessed it, Affleck and his best buddy Matt Damon.
Per Marca, this upcoming premiere has sparked so many questions and speculation. Will they go on the red carpet together? Will they break up by then or make up? Will they be contractually obligated to go? While we don’t know anything yet, many fans are keeping their eyes peeled for all the updates.
Now, the last time Lopez and Affleck walked the red carpet together was back in Feb 2024 during the premiere of Lopez’s movie This is Me… Now: A Love Story, and since then, their breakup rumors started; and they’ve barely been seen together.
For those who don’t know, Lopez and Affleck fell in love on the set of the film Gigli. They appeared in a couple more projects together, and got engaged by the end of 2002, per People. In 2003, they postponed their wedding and then broke up days before, due to the paparazzi and pressure they faced, and were broken up by 2004.
Fast forward to 2021, Lopez and Affleck rekindled their romance. A year later, they got engaged and married in a lavish ceremony, but as of July 2024, it seems clear that trouble is definitely afoot in their romance.
While neither has publicly commented on whether or not they’re splitting up, many can’t seem to guess what’s happening. Some PR experts believe this “will they, won’t they divorce” news cycle is merely a strategy to distract fans from Lopez’s failed tour, while others are convinced Affleck and Lopez’s romance will be ending for good soon.
