Tom Cruise has been spending a lot of time with 25-year-old singer Victoria Canal, and it’s resulted in full-blown dating rumors. The duo’s friendship first blossomed at the Glastonbury Festival in June when she performed with Coldplay, and then, they were suddenly spotted together more often. Everyone needs to chill a bit, though, because Canal is ready to set the record straight.
She’s not letting any source tell her side of the story, instead, Canal took to Instagram to reveal exactly what is going on. “guys, this is literally bonkers, but apparently the tabloids think i am dating tom cruise. i’m deceased.💀 let’s just stop this in its tracks,” she wrote in her caption. “I’m sorry to bum u out but i am not dating the man, albeit a lovely person & artist. lol never thought I would have to clarify that out loud in my life.” (You can see the post HERE.) Canal called out Page Six and other media outlets for claiming that there was something romantic going on between them.
Judging from the cute snapshot she also posted with her hand covering her mouth, Canal is taking the false reports all in stride. She described the Mission Impossible star as “a respectful and encouraging person and mentor” and counted him as a “teacher” in her life similar to Chris Martin, her dad, and her music coaches. The Spanish-American singer also had a request for Page Six, humorously noting, “if you’re gonna write me up @pagesix use a better picture damn 🥲.” And like every smart artist who knows how to seize a PR moment, she also promoted her tour and new singles — you go, Victoria!
Cruise’s love life has been the source of much speculation ever since he and Katie Holmes divorced in 2012. Despite his association with the controversial Church of Scientology, the media has been dying to see him linked to another woman. His last semi-serious relationship was with Russian socialite Elsina Khayrova. They dated the previous fall through early 2024, but it abruptly seemed to end after her ex-husband Dmitry Tsvetkov blabbed to the Daily Mail about her “expensive and luxurious taste” and issued a warning to Cruise.
“Irrespective of whoever she’s with, Tom Cruise or anybody else, they should be aware that she likes the finer things in life and has expensive and luxurious taste. Tom should keep his eyes and wallet wide open,” Tsvetkov shared. “I’m happy for her, I wish her all the best.” Well, that commentary seemed to usher Khayrova right out the door, and Cruise is still single — and definitely not with Canal.
