Kevin Costner Reunited With One of His Most Beloved Co-Stars & Fans Can’t Get Enough of the ‘Two Icons’

Throughout his career, Kevin Costner has had some incredible co-stars. From Whitney Houston in The Bodyguard to Morgan Freeman in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Costner’s shared the screen with some Hollywood legends. In 1988, Costner co-starred with another legend, and one of his most beloved scene partners, Susan Sarandon.

Together, the pair starred in Bull Durham, a Ron Shelton-directed movie about veteran baseball player Crash Davis (Costner) and his team’s longtime groupie Annie Savoy (Sarandon).

And, most recently, roughly 36 years after the movie’s release, Costner and Sarandon had a long-awaited reunion at the Venice Film Festival.

“There’s nothing like catching up with an old friend,” Costner wrote in the caption on Instagram alongside a picture of them now, and of the movie’s poster back them. “Great to see you @susansarandon—we’ve come a long way since our Bull Durham days.”

“I’m proud to have taken part in the @better_world_fund initiatives alongside Susan here at the #VeniceFilmFestival,” he continued.

In the comments, fans of the actors and their 80s movie are celebrating the reunion. “So good to see you together again. Both looking amazing! 😍😍😍” wrote one commenter. “Aged like fine wine, both of you 🔥” another wrote. “Wow!! Two Icons!! 🙌❤️” wrote another.

In addition to smiling for the Instagram shot together, Costner and Sarandon also attended the Better World Fund Gala on Sept. 5 and its red carpet. Costner wore a three-piece suit to the event while Sarandon wore a plunging black dress with a statement belt.

At the event, Sarandon was also celebrated for “supporting women in film and women around the world” while Costner was honored for “his contribution to supporting women and humanity.” “Speaking from Susan and myself, all we really hope is that we can make a difference, even if it’s the smallest one,” Costner said in his speech. Looks like these two have more in common than just a movie they did more than three decades ago!
