Zahara Jolie was a vision in white while joining her mom, Angelina Jolie, on the red carpet at the New York Film Festival premiere of Maria and her elegant look is reminding us of an iconic fashion moment at the 2004 Oscars.
Zahara, 19, took some time out of her studies at Spelman College in Atlanta to support her mom’s new movie alongside older brothers Pax, 20, and Maddox, 23.
The teen wore a silky white halter neck gown with a flattering bias cut that coordinated beautifully with Angelina’s vintage Madame Grès white ankle-length dress. However, not only did Zahara’s dress match the one her mom wore at the September 29 premiere, it also looked very similar to Angelina’s 2004 Oscars look.
At that event, Angelina wore a plunging white halter neckline with an open-back that was reminiscent of Marilyn Monroe’s Old Hollywood glamour. In fact, Angelina’s look was so iconic that Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney wore the exact same archival Marc Bouwer gown in March at the Vanity Fair Oscars After-Party, 20 years after Angelina’s head-turning moment.
Zahara, however, went for a slightly more reserved version with her long black locks draped to the side in a slight wave. The third of Jolie’s six children that she shares with ex-husband Brad Pitt, has not followed in her mom’s acting footsteps but has accompanied her to a couple of premieres in the past including at the Eternals premiere in 2021.
And it seems the support works both ways for the mother-daughter duo! After Zahara went viral earlier this year with a video of her dancing with her Alpha Kappa Alpha Mu Pi sorority sisters, a source told People that Angelina couldn’t be happier to see her daughter enjoying her time at the Georgia liberal arts school. “Angelina is proud of her, her AKA sisters, and all of the extraordinary young women at Spelman,” the source said.
