Goldie Hawn Has a Spicy Reason Why Her Long-Term Relationship With Kurt Russell Is Still Thriving

Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell have one of the most enduring relationship in Hollywood after 41 years together. While some fans might think their decision to stay boyfriend and girlfriend instead of husband and wife is a secret to their longevity, the 78-year-old actress believes they have a different magic formula to making love last. 

“You have to have good sex,” Hawn revealed to E! News on Sept. 27. “Because sex is something that connects you and creates more belonging. People who have healthy sexual relationships usually last a lot longer. But it’s not just because of the act, it’s because of the warmth and the intimacy that it creates.” She also added jokingly, “You have to be nice to each other on occasion.” 

The spicy advice Hawn dished out to her fans makes complete sense, but it’s not a new sentiment for her and Russell. She’s openly discussed their love and sex life with the media over the years because everyone is enamored of their loving relationship. It may have seemed unconventional years ago, but it proved to be the right decision for them. “Love, gratitude, compassion, because sometimes every man or every woman will drive their partner crazy. Family. Fun. Laughs. Sex,” Hawn told People in 2017. “If you don’t nurture that, and remember, you’re done.”

Hawn also has embraced the “elasticity” of their relationship — monogamy in Hollywood is hard. “Monogamy is a very tough order,” she added. “You’re in the prime of your life, you are attracted to other people, potentially, you have fantasies about that. It really runs the risk, if you will, if you’re not aware that you could maybe screw up a really good thing by doing that.” She and Russell often discuss their feelings and how it’s “normal” to be attracted to another man or woman — acting on those emotions is an entirely different story. 

How does Russell feel about the four decades he’s spent with his Christmas Chronicles co-star? Well, it’s exactly the sweet response you would expect. He told E! News, “I just love the fact that we met and we [are] still doing it. We still like being together.” Hawn and Russell’s love is the real deal.
