Blake Shelton Might Be Worried About Kelly Clarkson’s Sudden Friendship With Ex Miranda Lambert

Miranda Lambert‘s appearance on the Sept. 24 episode of The Kelly Clarkson Showmight have sparked some jealousy with Blake Shelton. The two women sang a moving duet of Lambert’s single, “No Man’s Land,” that had fans talking. Now, Shelton might be a bit in his feelings about Clarkson’s budding friendship with his ex-wife — there’s no love lost between him and Lambert.

“Kelly was Team Blake for a long, long time and Gwen, too, by default, but now that she’s gotten to know Miranda better, she doesn’t know what Blake’s talking about,” a source claimed. The 42-year-old talk show host apparently saw a sweet side of Lambert that she didn’t know about since she’s been pals with Shelton for so long. Clarkson seems open to giving Lambert a chance.

While there were rumors of infidelity on both sides of the equation, The Voice judge and his country singer ex-wife did not seem like a well-matched pair in a 2014 joint interview with Marie Claire. “Blake says I’m complicated, but, I mean, all girls are,” Lambert told the magazine.

“She was like, ‘What the hell is that supposed to mean?’ But it is the best way I know to describe her. Holy s—, man. That’s what I admire about her. Her complications,’” Shelton added. By July 2015 the marriage was over, and Clarkson was easily on Shelton’s side since they shared the same manager, her now ex-husband Brandon Blackstock. The duo stuck together when the “Since U Been Gone” singer split with her husband in 2020 and Shelton exited his management company in 2021.

TMZ revealed that Shelton had “terminated his relationship” with Blackstock in solidarity with his pal. “Blake and Kelly are extremely close,” a source told Us Weekly. “Their friendship and bond goes beyond the business.” Shelton clearly picked a side, but hopefully, he won’t feel burned by Clarkson’s opening herself up to a warm friendship with Lambert, especially since a decade has gone by and the exes are happily married to others now.

“Kelly’s realized Miranda’s not a baddie at all she’s a sweetheart and she’s going to give her support and be kind and generous even if it jeopardizes her friendship with Blake,” the Life & Style source added. That’s probably a friendship war Clarkson doesn’t want to be in the middle of.
