Jack Black welcomes baby number two

Jack Black and wife, musician Tanya Haden, welcomed their new son, Thomas David into the family.

Born on May 23 and weighing in at 6 pounds, the youngest member of the Black clan has joined his older brother, two-year-old Samuel, who was born June 10, 2006.

According to People Magazine, the Tenacious D singer made a playlist for his older son whose second birthday is this Tuesday, “He’s got great rhythm and loves to dance. I think I cracked the code,” he said, adding that he recommends it for “people with little babies.”

Born just a few weeks before his brother’s birthday, Thomas David experienced a bit of mistaken identity when the media misinterpreted a quote by father Jack Black when delivering the baby’s birth announcement.

Black clarified his son’s name confusion on the Today Show June 4th by saying, “It’s Thomas. I said we named the baby after me, but I didn’t say that my actual name is Thomas. I was in the delivery room. I didn’t catch the baby but I did touch his head before he was all the way out, which was a very surreal experience. I like to think that I helped!”

Although he wouldn’t comment on the specifics of his son’s arrival, the comedian lovingly described his newborn baby and namesake as “fresh out of the oven.”

Between releasing his new movie, “Kung Fu Panda,” and tipping off the media to the fact that his Panda costar Angelina Jolie is expecting twins, Papa Jack has been a busy boy. If little Thomas David — Jack’s own little Tenacious D — is anything like his father, this new addition to the family will definitely be keeping Jack and Tanya on their toes!

Congratulations to the Blacks!
