August
Starring: Josh Harnett and Robin Tunney
“August” is the story of two brothers, Tom and Joshua Sterling (Josh Hartnett and Adam Scott) whose Internet start-up, Landshark, is as hot as a New York City summer. This is another film heading back to summers of yesterday, this time it’s 2001. In a few weeks, the world will change forever.
Meet Dave
Starring: Eddie Murphy and Elizabeth Banks
“Meet Dave” is another family friendly comedy from Eddie Murphy. Dave Ming Chang (Eddie Murphy), has recently arrived in New York City and the classic fish out of water tale ensues.
The Stone Angel
Starring Ellen Page and Ellen Burstyn
Any film based on a novel by Margaret Laurence will get audiences to stand in line. “The Stone Angel” follows Hagar Shipley portrayed by Ellen Burstyn, who leads her life with her head and never her heart.
As she sits embarking on the final chapter of her life, her view around her grows deep and by the end of the film, well…let’s not spoil this heartwarming tale for anyone! Don’t miss the delightful “Juno” star, Ellen Page in her follow up.
Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D
Starring: Brendan Frasier
Many have read this classic Jules Verne novel in school, but attempts at it on the big screen have often fell flat.
Enter Brendan Fraser and the 3D technology that exists today (no glasses needed!) as the century old story gets a new millennia makeover. His outlandish theories have made him a joke amongst his professor peers, so Fraser’s character heads out on a journey to prove them wrong. Watch out for those eerie creatures…
Hellboy 2
Starring: Ron Perlman and Selma Blair
Speaking of creatures, it’s hard to miss the previews for this sequel. The film that didn’t do very well at the box office found its audience on DVD. The story really doesn’t matter. This is about the comic book sci-fi and watching Ron Perlman shine as the title character. Also don’t miss Selma Blair, her empowered character almost steals every scene.
A bat with his joker, and a movie that will make you say, ‘Mama Mia’…up next
