As if it wasn’t Hollyweird enough, Los Angeles was hit by a 5.4 magnitude earthquake just before noon on the west coast, shaking buildings and nerves.
The earthquake was felt in San Diego where this writer lives and from my desk shaking back and forth, it could only be more jarring the closer one is to the epicenter in Chino Hills.
In a town boasting its special effects and abilities to bring down entire cities with a single movie, the Tuesday earthquake was a little too real. From Hollywood studios to Las Vegas hotels, this July 29 earthquake made its presence felt.
Whether at our corporate offices in Los Angeles, the Entertainment hub of SheKnows in San Diego, or over at the office of our television writer extraordinaire Cynthia Boris in Orange County, this morning’s quake was a jarring experience.
The U.S. Geological Survey initially reported the quake was a 5.8 on the Richter scale, but within an hour of the earthquake, had lowered the figure to 5.4. It was centered in the Chino Hills area of Southern California, 35 miles east of downtown Los Angeles.
Whether it was a 8.6 or a 5.4, to the millions in the metropolitan area lining the streets of the entertainment capital of the world outside their offices, figures did not matter.
Nothing shakes your world more than having the earth move below you.
We are happy to report that all of the SheKnows family are well… shaken, but not stirred.
